The plastic base is often broken on these and i plan on 3D printing these. I also have a Holbrook's Scientific Apparatus Textbook dated 1847 that describes the functionality of their Tellurian. The physical characteristics are very similar to the Trippensee including chain drives independently controlling the moon and earth rotation. This model did not include Venus. An example of less the drive chains and the moon can be found at

https://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/search/object/nmah_1184512 Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04944430704136671764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790685954749608626.post-23121042748591317052021-02-27T02:29:55.343-05:002021-02-27T02:29:55.343-05:00Kyle, just to add some more to your history, the w...Kyle, just to add some more to your history, the wood for the planetariums was scrap wood from model T construction. There were 5 brothers and 3? Of them built cars, one was a professor, and the other built the Trippensee business. It moved from Detroit to Saginaw Michigan in the 1930s. I was excited to see this as my father worked for them for 42 years, starting in 1959, and has worked on these. He has restrung some of the original ones, as well as polished the spun brass, which was done by hand. He has one similar to the one you showed, as well as one made with bakelite. We also have the clear screen printed globes they made. There were large ones down to Christmas tree ornaments. The small earth globe actually came as a star shape when he worked for them and they had a lady that made them into the globe shape. She was very talented as you never saw the seams. The business started with just the planetariums and the wildlife side grew from that. When Betty (her father was one of the brothers) retired in the late 90s -early 2000s, it was sold to Science First. They remained in Saginaw learning how to build them and then moved the company out to New York with their parent company. I must say, the last building they were in is the one I remember, and I miss it. I loved the old wooden floors with their creaking and the smell of the place from all of the work they did there. Lots of good memories.Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12521740995845553302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790685954749608626.post-31325579908328561382020-09-01T06:10:33.445-04:002020-09-01T06:10:33.445-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Malaivel Siddha Hospitalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02723732499763746349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790685954749608626.post-25116320735777668052020-08-29T05:22:03.040-04:002020-08-29T05:22:03.040-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.SS Vermicompost Industryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08143748502264092273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790685954749608626.post-52021757095259221382018-10-03T14:14:09.094-04:002018-10-03T14:14:09.094-04:00Shanon, there are a lot of folks with that name o...Shanon, there are a lot of folks with that name on FB, you may contact me at ktl340@aol.com I'm potentially interested!
